Coffee-shop

You must register with Shared Regulatory Services at least 28 days before you start any food business operations. There is no charge for registration and the registration cannot be refused.

Caterers must be registered with the local authority where they are based, and for moveable premises where the vehicle is kept overnight.

It is important you do this because if you are found guilty of running a food business without registering you may be fined or imprisoned for up to 2 years or both if you run a food business without registering.

Once you have registered, you will need to notify us if there is a change of ownership or change in the nature of the business.

You can contact us to discuss your advice requirements when you are starting a new business. We can give advice on structural requirements and the food safety management system necessary for your business.

If you produce and/or store and supply products of animal origin to other business, you may need prior approval from us to do so. More information can be found on our Approved Premises page.
