Warning about scams relating to the Covid-19 vaccination programme

One resident aged 90 received a text message purporting to be from the NHS stating she could apply for her vaccination

January 6th, 2021

The resident thought it was plausible as she would be considered a priority for the vaccination due to her age.  She clicked on a link inMobile call no number the text message which went on to ask her for her bank details and she realised it was a scam.

Residents are reminded not to give out their personal details especially banking details when these are asked for by way of a link in an email or text message and there is no cost for the vaccination.

The Joint committee on vaccination and Immunisation have issued guidance on the priority of which groups of the public will be vaccinated first.  The groups will be contacted by their doctor or Health Board when applicable.

Please contact Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133 if you would like to report a scam of this nature.
